Basic Health Services in Siem Reap and Otdar Meanchey provinces

The objective of this project is to contribute to alleviate poverty and to strengthen socio-economic development through improving mothers' and children's health. The project specifically aims at improving health care seeking, promoting preventative behaviour with increased availability and equitable access to affordable quality services for the population of Siem Reap and Otdar Meanchey, Particularly the poorest and most vulnerable.

Key components of the project are:

-Support to consumer rights organizations

-Behavioural change communication

-Strengthening of health services

-Quality improvement initiatives

-Training

-Management strengthening

The project started early 2004 for a duration of four years. Its management unit is based in Siem Reap province and its sub-office in Otdar Meanchey province.
